Crews Battle 3 Alarm House Fire 1100 Race St

At 0537hrs Dorchester Central dispatched units for a “STRUCTURE FIRE” at 1100 RACE ST in the Cambridge 1-1 Box Area. Chief 1 (Adam Pritchett) arrived on location and confirmed CPD’s report of a working fire and established command. Engine 1-3 arrived on location taking the hydrant at the corner of Race & Bailey as the crew established fire attack with fire on division 2. Command requested a 2nd & 3rd Alarm adding additional units and personnel to the call. Units responded from as far as Wicomico Co. to assist Rescue Fire Company with extinguishing this fire which left extensive damage to this vacant house. At 0945hrs command was terminated and all fire units were placed in service. 2 firefighters were transported to the local hospital (DGH) via DCEMS with non life threatening injuries. This fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
