Box Alarm 1-2 717 Douglas St

At 2110hrs Dorchester Central dispatched units for the APARTMENT FIRE (Duplex) at 717 DOUGLAS ST in the Cambridge 1-2 Box Area. Chief 1 arrived on location with A 2 story wood frame duplex, completed A 360 to find smoke from division 2 and established command. Engine 1-3 arrived on location picking up the hydrant at the corner Douglas and Phillips St (400" of 5" supply hose) and established fire attack group stretching (200' 1.75" hose) to extinguish the fire. Crews from multiple Station assisted with overhaul & clean up. Command placed the situation under control at 2230hrs releasing all but Engine 1-3 from the scene and the standby crews. Command was terminated at 2359hrs and all units were placed in service without incident. This fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
