Box Alarm 1-2 802 Allen St House Fire

Statement from the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office:
“A house fire in Cambridge, Maryland caused $50,000 in damages early Wednesday morning.

The Maryland Fire Marshal said firefighters were called to a two story wood frame home at 802 Allen St. a little after 1 a.m., when a neighbor discovered the fire.

There was one fire alarm in the home but it was not activated. No one was injured.

The fire started at the back exterior of the home and it took 30 firefighters about a hour to control the blaze.

The home is currently owned by Tanita Butts.

The occupant of the home is currently being helped by the American Red Cross.

It is unclear as to what started the fire and it remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office at 410-713-3780.”
