Commercial Vehicle Fire

Just after 11:30am Thursday morning volunteers from Rescue Fire Company were alerted for a commercial vehicle fire. Chief 1-2 arrived on scene to find a garbage truck in a parking lot with the cab of the truck fully involved.

Chief 1-1, Engine 1-3, Engine 1-2, Rescue 1, and Haz-Mat 1 responded to the incident. Crews used handlines and a portable deck gun to extinguish the fire. The fire spread from the cab to the compactor which still had trash in-side, crews spent about 3 hours on scene making sure the fire was completely extinguished.

No injuries reported.
