Rescue Fire Company continues its “Safety in the Neighborhood Initiative” by installing Smoke detectors and “Bed Shaker” alerting systems in our community. It’s simple, smoke detectors and early alerting systems save lives!

In the past few weeks members from Rescue Fire Company have installed 66 smoke detectors, 3 “Bed Shaker” alarm systems, and gave out multiple handouts with fire safety information to families in our area.

The “Bed Shaker”: We realized there was a need for a unique smoke alarm system in our community. Traditional smoke detectors alert families with a loud alarm, but what if the family has a deaf family member?

We teamed up with the American Red Cross to install the “Bed Shaker” smoke alarm system for 3 deaf families in our community. This system will alert the individuals about an emergency by vibrating/shaking their beds.
