At 11:18AM Dorchester Central dispatched units for A Reported APARTMENT FIRE at 701 RACE ST "BRADFORD HOUSE APARTMENTS" APT#117 in the Cambridge 1-2 Box Area. PM100 arrived on location and immediately call for A working Fire Task Force noting smoke banking down in the hallway with A working kitchen fire. Engine 1-3 arrived on location established investigation group, covered the standpipe using the hydrant in front of the structure and deployed the standpipe packs into the structure. Chief 1-1 (Brad Walters) arrived on location taking command to organize the fire response and attack. Other units arrived to assist with the primary and secondary searches of the structure. At approx. 11:35AM with the fire extinguished and the recommendation of the investigations officer command placed the situation under control and called for the State Fire Marshal. Units remained on location to turn off the sprinkler system, pack up hose & equipment and assist the fire marshal. At 12:59PM command was terminated and all units were placed in service without incident. Multiple families were displaced as a result of this fire (water & smoke damage), Bradford House management set up hotels for those residents. Units (DCEMS PM100, Talbot PM93 & Hurlock PM6-1) transported 3 patients to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester priority 3.
