August 23, 2020

Today was bittersweet as the volunteers came together to celebrate the life of James "Jimmy" T. Salisbury #58. Jimmy was described during the ceremony with words like volunteer, lieutenant, friend, but the word that stood out the most was "Brother". Today Jimmy, you suffer no more, Rest Easy My Brother, We Got It From Here...

James “Jimmy” T. Salisbury, 52, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Watertown, NY on September 28, 1967 and was a son of the late of James R. Salisbury and Carolyn Blackburn Austin.

Jimmy attended schools in Dorchester County. On June 2, 2006, he married the former Jessica Carney. He worked as a truck driver and a tow truck driver. Jimmy enjoyed NASCAR, wrestling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was an honorary member of Cambridge Rescue Fire Company Inc.

He is survived by his wife Jessica Salisbury, his children Caleb Frampton, Alexander Harrison, Makaylah Harder, Zackary Harder, Joshua Harder, James Matthew Truman Salisbury, Madison Salisbury, and Joshua Salisbury, a grandson Linkoln Harder, two sisters Janel Salisbury and Phyllis Lewis, a lifelong friend Bessie Frampton and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his step mother Pauline Ball Salisbury and a sister Tina Weir.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2 pm at Rescue Fire Company Inc. in the engine bay, with Chaplain Gary Hickman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.

Fireman's Prayer

When duty call's me, oh Lord,
Wherever Flames may rage,
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever Be its age.

Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert,
and oh Lord, guide my every move,
for life is so precious,
please don't let us loose.

I want to fill my calling and
To give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect their property

And if according to thy will,
That I must give my life,
Then with thy protecting hand my Lord,
I pray thee, protect my children and my wife.
