Box Alarm 1-2 801 Race St Commercial Building Fire

At 6:47PM Dorchester Central dispatched volunteer units for A reported commercial building fire at 801 Race St (Wesleyan Church) Cambridge, Md. Units arrived on location with nothing evident from the exterior but a light haze on the interior of the building. Multiple crews went into investigation mode covering divisions 1 & 2 to find smoldering wood in the cabinets surrounding the kitchen hood vent. Crews performed salvage & overhaul operations removing the burnt wood and hood vent. The building was ventilated using positive pressure ventilation, checked with thermal imaging cameras, and a visual walk through was performed before turning the building back to members of the church. At 7:36PM command was terminated and all Station 1 units were placed in service without incident.
